:  a disease especially of the skin that occurs in immunocompromised individuals, that is characterized by reddish elevated lesions often surrounded by a scaly ring, that may spread to produce a more widespread systemic disorder, and that is caused by either of two bacteria of the genus Bartonella (B. henselae and B. quintana)—called also epithelioid angiomatosis
